Organic Chemistry Videos

The Division has a number of video projects and collaborations that are available. While a significant number of these videos are available to the public, some are for members only and you will need to be a valid member of the division and logged in to the website in order to view them.

Past Virtual Symposium Videos

The Division of Organic Chemistry, in collaboration NSF Center for Selective C–H Functionalization, hold regularly scheduled virtual symposia. The recordings of these events are available in this video library.

Historic Organic Chemistry Videos

The Division of Organic Chemistry, in collaboration with various organizations and individuals around the world, provides a repository for historic chemistry videos. Many of these videos have been found in old video tape archives and digitized so we can preserve them for current and future chemists to view. Please keep in mind that we have done our best to improve the video and audio quality of these videos!

Eminent Organic Chemist Videos

The Division of Organic Chemistry (ORGN) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) celebrated its 100th birthday in 2008. As part of this celebration, ORGN hosted a Centennial Symposium at the ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia on August 18, 2008. The day before the symposium, with the support of ORGN and its then Chair, Bob Volkmann, Jeffrey I. Seeman of the University of Richmond conducted interviews of the participants and several other eminent chemists. One goal was to reveal the human side of these chemists.

The Division of Organic Chemistry is pleased to provide the following videos to the public free of charge.

Other Notable Chemistry Videos

The Division webmasters have compiled a page of other noteworthy videos from around the web. While these videos are not the product of the Division, they are of likely to be of interest to the diverse membership of the division.
