Career paths in organic chemistry are not always linear, and returning after a career break (≥2 years) can be challenging. The DOC is seeking to better understand the experiences of those who have struggled to re-enter the field, as well as those who have successfully navigated a return. As introduced at the recent DOC DEIR coffee hour at the ACS meeting in Atlanta, this effort is an initial step toward building a more inclusive and supportive community.
